Now Offering Classes in Saskatoon
Starting in October 2024, Melanie will be joining The Art Room Ink team to offer classes for TEENS, Homeschool Groups and Workshops/Paint Parties for all ages.
TEEN CLASSES: Experiment with contrast, learn to spot shadows, highlights, and reflective light, improve your colour mixing abilities and get creative with storytelling. This 8-week course will give you the confidence to work in ink, watercolour, and acrylic paint on portraits, animals and more. We will help you create a final mixed-media masterpiece based on your choice of song lyric.
8 Weeks in Duration Oct 18 - Dec 6
Length of classes: 1.5 hours of class + an extra 30 minutes each class for those who need a bit more time to complete projects! - Never feel rushed!

Paint and sip the night away and unleash your INNER ARTIST!
PaintNite is a unique experience. Enjoy drinks and delicious food while having fun with paint. This is not an art class. You’ll learn a few tricks with step-by-step instructions and get creative, colour outside the lines, enjoy moving colours around the canvas. It can be relaxing, inspiring, or a good laugh with friends. PaintNite is all about having a good time.

Melanie sees beauty everywhere she goes. She would love to paint something personal for you.
As a graphic designer of 25 years and a musician for longer, creativity is at the core of who she is. Oil painting has become a favorite and she strives to grow in her craft. She has spent time outdoors capturing the beauty around her on canvas over many summers. She enjoys encouraging others in their pursuit of creativity and enjoys teaching group paint workshops. Melanie’s goal is to push herself more each year to create new and improved works of art inspired by the beauty of Saskatchewan and Canadian landscapes. More recently she has begun experimenting with portrait painting too! She also runs a freelance graphic & web design business and feels fortunate to have multiple avenues of creative expression.
