Paint and Canvas

Melanie paints using high quality, rich and vivid acrylic and oil paints; sometimes additional mediums are used to acheive texture, shine or other effects. Canvas paintings are done on 100 % cotton stretched canvas that has been double primed and is acid-free. Melanie is also gifted at pencil drawings and computer-aided illustration and can do custom work in these mediums as well.

Gallery Canvas and Frames

Paintings that are "gallery" are 1.5" deep and typically do not need to be framed as the paint goes all around the sides to give it a nice finish. Regular 3/4" deep canvas can be hung as is or framed (preferably framed). Some of the paintings will be available to purchase with a frame. Frames add anywhere from $60 - 120 to the price depending on the frame. To have a painting custom framed is often $180 and up. Choosing a frame can be difficult especially if you’re not used to doing interior decorating. I have worked as a certified framer and would be happy to help you or give advice. I strongly recommend adding a linen liner between your art and frame as it gives the art a bit of space. If you like a modern look, choose simple, straight lines, often a thinner frame like a float frame works well to give a border around the art without taking it over. Landscapes and plein air art often look nice in a plein air frame, which comes in golds, bronze, sometimes black, wood or silver.

Custom Art

Melanie can take your photos and create something custom for you. Perhaps you have old photos of an ancestor you'd like a sketch or painting of? Maybe your child in their toddler years, or your wedding captured through an art piece? Perhaps it's your favourite place to go... a cottage, trail, lake view, structure or your beautiful garden. Whatever it is, if you have a reference photo that you took or found online, we can do a custom piece for you. If you don't have a photo but have an idea or colour scheme, we can work with that too. Melanie will do a rough scketch of the concept first. If you are unsatisfied with the custom work, she will make efforts to correct the painting. See POLICIES for returns and exhange on custom art.

Shipping Outside of Saskatoon

If you live outside our area, please choose the shipping option or arrange your own shipping with us. For the paintings that are stretched canvas, we will protect it using gator board/cardboard & plastic wrap to keep them safe during travel. Custom work can be done on unstretched canvas and shipped in a tube if desired, which would require you to have it stretched onto bars at your local frame shop. We are currently not shipping outside of Canada but are open to it if there is interest from outside Canada. Melanie would be happy to hear from you! Policies

1) PURCHASING: Clients can purchase art in person by certified cheque, e-mail money transfer, or cash, or by credit card using SQUARE. Cheques should be made out to Melanie Graphics. A receipt will always be given. Taxes may be charged depending on your province.

2) TRIAL & RETURNS: The Client can view the ART in their home or office and if they feel it doesn't suit their space, it can be returned or exchanged. To help in your decision, please ask us for more photos. For a full refund, returns must be done or arranged within 1 week (7 days) of receiving the product and the art should be in original condition. We do not cover the cost to ship it back but will give a discount towards another purchase. When shipping a return, please purchase the insurance coverage as we will not give a refund unless the product is returned in good condition. Commissioned art has a different return policy—see below. Prints and products purchased through other websites such as Etsy, Fine Art America, Pixels and Zazzle, the return must go through those sites however please communicate with me as to the reason or if I can provide a solution.

3) CUSTOM COMMISSIONED WORK RETURN POLICY: Should the Client be unsatisfied with the painting, they will receive a full refund and the painting will be returned to the Artist (exception for portrait of person or pet). In the event that the custom portrait or pet painting is unsatisfactory, and attempts to fix the painting fail, a 30% discount towards the next order will be given. Your happiness is important! 

4) DEPOSIT: For Custom Commissioned Work, a 50% deposit is required before the Artist begins. 

5) REFERRALS: If you refer a customer who purchases a painting from Melanie Beaudoin/Studio Beaudoin, we will give you $25 off a painting or a $15 Gift Card for Tim Hortons, or Starbucks, your choice! 

6) RIGHTS: The Artist always retains the right to use photos of the sold paintings to use in their portfolio, online, and in some cases, sell prints of the art (for commissioned art, prints sold only with permission).
